Synevo laboratory network advocates for equal conditions in the medical guarantee program
The Synevo medical laboratory network has appealed to the government with a proposal to update the rules of the medical guarantee program. Company representatives emphasize the need to create identical conditions for both public and private medical institutions operating within Ukraine's healthcare system.
According to Mykola Skavronskyi, Commercial Director of Synevo, the initial idea behind the medical reform was for patients to have the right to freely choose where to receive services. In this model, the state should fund the specific medical service, regardless of the ownership status of the facility where it was provided.
Currently, there are certain discrepancies in the operating rules that limit the participation of private laboratories in the program. Experts note that equalizing the rights of all medical service providers would allow patients to receive high-quality diagnostics faster and more conveniently, using state funding.
The company is convinced that the implementation of uniform standards will help make the healthcare system more competitive and efficient. This would allow patients to decide for themselves where it is more comfortable for them to take tests or undergo examinations, without overpaying for services that should already be covered by the state.
At present, the discussion regarding changes to the medical guarantee program is ongoing. It is expected that the government's subsequent steps will be aimed at improving citizens' access to medical care and ensuring the transparency of budget fund distribution in the medical sector.
