Ukrainian metallurgy under pressure: Metinvest plants recover after shelling
The Ukrainian metallurgical industry has found itself in a difficult situation due to constant enemy attacks. The Metinvest company reported that its enterprises, including Zaporizhstal and Kametstal, are currently working on recovery following serious damage caused by shelling in August and September.
The consequences of these attacks have proven tragic not only for production facilities but also for the companies' workforces. According to official data from the company, 13 employees were killed as a result of enemy strikes, and more than 40 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
Metinvest management notes that the company has effectively exhausted its "margin of safety." Constant destruction of infrastructure and the danger to personnel create serious challenges for the stable operation of the plants, which are vital to Ukraine's economy.
Despite the difficult conditions, specialists continue repair work at the damaged facilities. Restoring production remains a priority, as the metallurgical industry plays a key role in supporting the Ukrainian economy during the war.
