Flight delays, emergency food advice & more today
Travelers face renewed disruption at UK airports today following a fresh air traffic control failure, which has already resulted in 24 flight cancellations. This incident follows a major system shutdown just two weeks ago that grounded 2,000 flights; passengers are advised to check their flight status with their airline before heading to the airport.
In other national developments, the government has issued guidance encouraging households to maintain a supply of essential food and water. This advice is part of a broader risk-preparedness planning tool intended to help the public handle potential emergencies, rather than a response to any specific or predicted event.
Meanwhile, the number of young people in the UK who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET) has fallen below one million. This shift reflects an improving trend in youth engagement within the workforce and education sectors.
On the international stage, Prime Minister Andy Burnham is scheduled to meet with Donald Trump in New York. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening support for Ukraine and addressing rising fuel prices linked to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
