Festival Organisers Request 75-Day Use of Victoria Park

The organisers of the popular All Points East and LIDO festivals have submitted a new proposal to use Victoria Park in London for a total of 75 days each year. The company behind the events, AEG, sent the plans to the local council for official approval.

According to the proposal, the 75-day period includes the time needed to build the festival stages and take them down after the events are over. The organisers clarified that these days would not be consecutive, meaning the park would not be closed for two and a half months in a single block.

AEG stated that this request does not mean they plan to increase the number of festival days or the "intensity" of their activities. Instead, the extra time is mainly for the logistics of setting up and removing the large structures required for the music performances.

Victoria Park is a well-known location for major summer events, but the use of public space often leads to discussions between organisers and the local community. The council will now review the plans to decide if the request will be granted for future festival seasons.
