New Audio Technology Improves Accessibility at Vue Cinemas
Vue Cinemas has introduced a new audio system called 'Auri' across its locations in the United Kingdom. This technology uses Auracast, a modern broadcast audio system designed to help people with hearing difficulties enjoy films more comfortably.
The system works as a 'bring your own device' (BYOD) solution. This means that cinema guests can connect their own hearing aids, headphones, or earbuds directly to the cinema’s audio system. By using their personal devices, visitors can receive clear, high-quality sound directly into their ears.
This update is part of a wider effort to make entertainment venues more inclusive for everyone. By allowing guests to use the technology they are already familiar with, Vue aims to remove common barriers that people with hearing loss often face when visiting public spaces.
For many cinema-goers, this change will make watching movies a much better experience. Instead of needing to borrow special equipment from the cinema, guests can simply connect their own devices to the system once they are inside the screening room.
The installation of this technology highlights how digital tools are being used to improve accessibility in the UK. As more venues adopt similar systems, it is expected that going to the cinema will become easier and more enjoyable for all members of the public.
