RAF Training Jet Crashes in North Wales
An RAF Hawk training jet crashed this afternoon shortly after taking off from RAF Valley in Anglesey. The incident occurred as the aircraft was performing a routine training flight, causing concern for local residents and emergency services.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing flames coming from the jet as it climbed into the sky. Shortly after the fire was spotted, both crew members on board successfully ejected from the aircraft before it hit the ground.
The jet crashed into a field approximately one mile away from the airbase. Emergency teams, including police and ambulance services, were immediately sent to the area to secure the site and assist the pilots.
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that both pilots are safe and are currently receiving medical assessments. An investigation into the cause of the crash is now underway to determine why the aircraft experienced technical difficulties during its departure.
RAF Valley remains a key site for pilot training in the United Kingdom. Officials have asked the public to avoid the area while the recovery operation continues and the investigation into the incident proceeds.
