Success on the first day of Plaza Rural: more than 91% of calves sold
Uruguay's livestock sector celebrated a successful start at the recent Plaza Rural event. During the first day of sales, a total of 6,178 calves were sold. This figure represents 91.78% of the initial offer, demonstrating great interest from buyers in this category of young animals.
Christopher Brown, one of the experts linked to the event, highlighted that the market remains very firm. According to Brown, the high demand for calves reflects a positive trend observed in recent weeks. The prices and the pace of sales indicate that producers trust the quality of the livestock presented at this auction.
A key factor for the success of this day is the financial support available to participants. The Banco de la República (BROU) offers special conditions for buyers, including a 180-day payment term for all categories. This facility allows more ranchers to participate in the bidding and acquire animals for their fields with greater flexibility.
The activity continues this Wednesday with a full schedule starting at 9 a.m. In this second stage, other important categories such as steers, wintering cows, and breeding stock will be offered. Public interest is expected to remain high, following the trend set during the first day of commercial operations.
In conclusion, the initial results from Plaza Rural confirm the stability of the livestock market in the region. The combination of a quality offer and good financing options ensures that the agricultural sector remains a fundamental engine for the country's economy, attracting both sellers and investors.
