Venezuela Today: Advances in Hydrocarbons, Economic Challenges, and Sports News
The Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, made an important visit to Anzoátegui state to strengthen the energy sector. During her tour, she established the Higher Academic Council for Hydrocarbons and launched the "Taladro Escuela" (Drill School) project. This new training center aims to certify Pdvsa workers, future engineers, and personnel from foreign companies. Additionally, the president inspected various socio-community projects in the Emperatriz Guzmán commune to evaluate the state of public services.
In the international arena, Rodríguez took the opportunity during her speeches to send a message to the United States and Europe. The president asked these powers to "lose their fear" of a Venezuela without economic blockades. In her speech, she insisted on the need to completely lift the international sanctions imposed against the country, asserting that this is fundamental for national development.
However, the government's management also faces internal criticism for its recent restructuring. Some analysts compare the changes in the Miraflores cabinet to a game of "musical chairs," suggesting that official movements are constant and that there is no real renewal in leadership policies under the supervision of the acting president.
Regarding the economy, experts are analyzing the problems of the "bank reserve requirement" in the country, which currently stands at 73%. This means that banks can only lend 27% of the money deposited by customers. Specialists warn that this high percentage prevents economic reactivation, as it drastically limits the credit available to businesses and citizens.
In security matters, authorities in Zulia state have activated a search operation in Maracaibo. Security forces are attempting to locate Darwin José Salazar Molina, known by the alias "El Cojo." The 32-year-old man has a formal arrest warrant following a report, and authorities have requested the region's cooperation to achieve his detention.
In the world of sports, Venezuelan baseball player Luis Arráez continues to demonstrate his talent in the Major Leagues. Although his team, the San Francisco Giants, lost 3-2 to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arráez stood out on offense. The player drove in his team's only two runs and continues to raise his batting average, consolidating himself as a key figure in the league.
On the other hand, national soccer suffered a defeat on international soil. Academia Puerto Cabello bid farewell to the Copa Sudamericana after falling 1-0 to Atlético Mineiro in Brazil. The match, played at the Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte, marked the end of the Venezuelan team's participation in this edition of the continental tournament.
Finally, the city of Caracas celebrated the success of the first edition of "Expo Mascota," which featured a special appearance by the famous expert César Millán. Attendees enjoyed activities with their pets and learned about new product brands. Additionally, the company Evenpro announced that the popular show Disney On Ice will soon return to Venezuela to offer entertainment for the whole family.
