The east will cool down somewhat Caution in the west! Thunderstorms are expected during the Germany match.

Germany is experiencing a dramatic weather shift as thunderstorms continue moving across the country, bringing temporary relief from the intense heat while keeping weather officials on alert.

The storms that developed on Friday are expected to sweep across much of Germany throughout Saturday, bringing rain, cooler air, and some relief from the ongoing heatwave. However, despite the cooling effect in some regions, high temperatures are still expected to persist across large parts of the country.

In western and southern Germany, temperatures are expected to climb between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, eastern regions will feel noticeably cooler, with highs ranging from 26 to 29 degrees. The storms moving eastward are helping reduce temperatures there more significantly.

There is good news for football fans ahead of tonight’s World Cup match. Earlier forecasts had warned of severe thunderstorms around Berlin, raising concerns about possible disruptions. Those fears have now eased, as meteorologists say the east will remain largely calm by match time.

However, weather conditions remain more unstable in western Germany. Similar to Friday, isolated heat thunderstorms may develop over the *Mittelgebirge* (low mountain ranges), with some capable of producing hail. Storm activity in neighboring France is particularly intense due to even higher temperatures.

Because of this, storm systems from France could move into *Saarland*, *Rheinland-Pfalz* (Rhineland-Palatinate), and possibly the *Eifel* region by Saturday evening. While these storms are expected to be weaker than Friday’s severe weather, residents are still advised to stay cautious.

Overall, the weather outlook for the World Cup match has improved significantly, but the broader heatwave remains far from over. Meteorologists warn that hot conditions are likely to continue until at least the end of June, meaning Germany may have to endure several more days of intense summer heat.
