Murder of a mother in Innsbruck by her Turkish husband hours after his deportation decision
The Innsbruck-O-Dorf area witnessed a horrific murder, where a 37-year-old Austrian woman was killed after being stabbed by her 31-year-old Turkish husband inside their apartment, before he committed suicide, according to the Austrian news agency APA.
According to the details of the case, the crime occurred in the early hours after just one day of police intervention in a heated dispute between the couple, during which a decision was made to prevent the husband from entering the home or approaching his wife at 11:15 PM.
However, the husband did not comply with the decision, as he later returned to the apartment and forcibly broke its door, before attacking his wife with a kitchen knife, in a crime likely motivated by jealousy, especially with a previous history of violence and threats within the relationship.
According to the investigations, the victim tried to escape from the assault, but she was unsuccessful, as she was later found murdered, alongside the body of the perpetrator who took his own life after committing the crime.
The police had intervened the night before following a violent altercation between the two parties, where the husband was taken to the station, but he appeared 'calm and cooperative' and denied the accusations, with no signs of immediate danger recorded at that time, according to the head of investigations Philipp Rapold.
On the following morning, a police patrol headed to the residence to check on it, only to discover the two crimes inside the building. While the time of death was not precisely determined, the indicators suggest that the crime occurred in the early morning hours.
Regarding the victim's children, the police confirmed that they were not at the scene of the incident, as the two children living with their mother were with their biological father at the time of the crime, preventing them from being exposed to the scene.
This incident once again highlights the seriousness of domestic violence, especially in cases where protection orders are violated, despite the legal measures taken.
Investigations are still ongoing by the relevant authorities, including questioning those close to the victim and the perpetrator, in an attempt to understand all the circumstances of the crime.
