Infant left in Vienna – who saw this man?
Vienna police are investigating a concerning case after a baby was abandoned in the Wienerberg area on Thursday evening. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a woman acting violently towards the child near a pond in the Favoriten district around 7 PM. She entered the water holding the baby several times, and while exiting, she stumbled and nearly dropped him. When passersby confronted her about her behavior, she left with the child.
After a short while, an unknown man appeared carrying the same baby. He placed the child in a stroller and then walked away in an unknown direction. In the end, the boy, who was about 11 months old, was left alone.
The emergency services transported the child to the hospital for a thorough examination. Fortunately, the doctors confirmed that he had not sustained any injuries despite what happened.
The Southern Branch of the Criminal Police Office in Vienna took over the case, where images of the unknown man were obtained and published by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the man or woman involved to come forward. The police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the individuals who left the baby behind.
